Marconi Wikis
A series of wikis is being built up to record both personal and factual information on all of the enterprises that started or through mergers came under the banner of the Marconi name throughout its long and successful history. In effect these cover the birth and development of what became a new industry - electronics - and eventually, prior to the ill-fated final management failures, encompassed virtually all major British companies.
The series encompasses FAMILY - the master wiki - and the topic wikis:
RESEARCH, RADAR, TELEVISION, BROADCASTING, COMMUNICATIONS, AVIONICS, MARINE, COMPUTERS & AUTOMATION, VALVES, MICROELECTRONICS, INSTRUMENTATION, MIMCO.
All the wikis can be accessed through FAMILY.
Initially access to all wikis was restricted to those who had employment with at least one of the constituent companies, with the eventual aim of opening all to public view. This has now been achieved for the all of them.
A further private wiki - The Marconi Old Fellows - has been added to provide a forum for ex-apprentices.
